After five days of struggling for his life, 17 year old Youssef Amireh died of his deadly wounds. On Wednesday, July 30th, a few hours after the funeral of ten year old Ahmed Mousa who was murdered by border police, the people of Ni'ilin set out to the blockade at the entrance of the village, where a large contigent of soldiers was present. Clashes developed where the army used teargas and rubber-coated bullets, while the village's youth responded with stones.
At around 19:30, an armored border police jeep pulled up next to a yard where 17 year old Youssef Amireh's was standing. He and his friends were standing in the yard, not taking part in the clashes. From the bullet proof window of the jeep, a barrel of a gun was extended through the firing loophole and shot rubber coated bullets towards the yard from a distance of no more than ten meters. Two of the bullets hit Amireh in the head, penetrating his skull.
Upon arrival to the Ramallah hospital, Youssef Amireh was diagnosed by the doctors as brain dead and that his death was a matter of hours.
Five days after his shooting, Amireh dies of his mortal wounds.
