On Friday, residents of the Palestinian villages Bil'in and Ni'ilin were once again joined by international and Israeli activists in protests against the confiscation of their lands by Israel's wall and adjoining settlements. Troops dispersed these demonstrations by firing teargas canisters, rubber-coated steel bullets and live ammunition from snipers armed with Ruger rifles (which have been banned by the army's Judge Advocate General itself in 2001).
