Wednesday morning, over twenty people showed up at the entrance to the induction base for drafted soldiers in Tel HaShomer, to support Maya Yechieli-Wind and Raz Bar David-Veron. The two young Israeli COs, signees of the "Shministim" Seniors Letter, were accompanied by activists banging drums and holding banners in support of those refusing to join the army - particularly in these times, as Israel's military engages in massive war crimes against Gaza's civilians.

Maya arrived at the central military recruitment base in order to declare, for the first time officially, her refusal to be drafted, while CO Raz has already been sentenced four times in the past for her continuing refusal to serve in Israel's occupation forces.
Whether through loud slogans, placards or even heated arguments between supporters of the COs and family members of newly-recruited soldiers, we made it clear that there are Israelis who refuse to take part in the atrocities being committed in our name, now more than ever.
