Popular Struggle Continues, Dozens Injured

Sunday demo in Beit Jalla was held a day after Israeli forces murdered 2 youths in Iraq Burin during a demonstration against the settlements and occupation. It was also marking the seventh anniversary of the murder of Rachel Corrie in Gaza by an IOF D9 bulldozer.

Massive oppression and rising temperatures don't stop the popular struggle

After a week of demonstrations in Beit Jalla, massive Friday demonstrations took place all over the West Bank, facing the army's weapons as well as extreme weather conditions. At the break of the new week soldiers came to Bil'in and Ni'ilin and posted notifications, pronouncing both villages closed military zones for every Friday until August. The struggle continues.

Amidst Military Aggression and Threats of Political Arrests, A Call to Open Shuhada St. to Palestinian Movement

Thursday, the 25th of February, marked the 16th year anniversary of closing Shuhada street in Hebron to Palestinian movement. That afternoon, about 300 protesters met in Hebron where they marched in the rain waving flags, linking arms, and chanting slogans in Arabic, Hebrew, and English. In Tel-Aviv, activists placed an impromptu roadblock in a busy street in an attempt to raise consciousness about the Palestinians' lack of freedom of movement in Hebron and the entire West Bank.

 

Five years of struggle in Bil'in - and the wall comes tumbling down!

In Bil'in's 5th anniversary demonstration more than 1,500 local, Israeli and international activists marched towards the illegal fence built on village lands and brought large pieces of it down.

Meanwhile demonstrations also went on in four other locations over the West Bank, sharing the same message: The Wall Must Fall!

Demonstrating in Rain and Tear Gas

In spite of harsh weather conditions, demonstrators in An Nabi Salih, Bil'in, Ni'lin, Ma'asara and Sheikh Jarrah once again took to the fields and streets, protesting against the ongoing occupation and the land grabs. Soldiers and police too came out, shooting demonstrators and trying to make arrests. The fight goes on.

Despite Political Arrests Protests Continue All Across the West Bank

During this week's Friday demonstrations dozens have suffered tear-gas inhalation. In Bil'in, Iyad Burnat, the head of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements, was directly hit in his hand by a tear-gas canister, which caused major burns. In An Nabi Salih, the border police deliberately targeted a house close to the road and shot at least one tear gas canister into the house causing about 20 people to be trapped inside without the ability to escape the gas.
